New Year, New Notes, New-sletter
Family Reunion is 45 days away, the learning won't stop, but there's just so much information to process!
So why add another newsletter to your inbox? If you're anything like me, finding time to learn, implement, and internalize all the things I'm "learning" takes real focus and attention. Between all my roles at home and in business, there simply isn't enough time. So many books, videos, articles, and podcasts that get shared with me. I've built up quite the collection and library. Want a copy of my notes as I work through them?
These will be my notes along the way. I'll put the hints and recipe notes in as I always do, and stay true to the models, systems, and processes I come across. It may feel like that [spoiler alert] copy of Advanced Potion-Making from Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Maybe all I need is a little liquid luck (read: coffee), and a little help from my friends as we go.
I'm editing down the notes to a curated, simple summaries that are easy to read, and quick to implement. I'm also going to share what we're reading and watching around the house and around the office. Twice a month sound good?
Let's start with these two on leadership:
Article: The Art of Leading Teammates by Tom Brady & Nitin Nohria | Notes
Video: Great Leadership is a network, not a hierarchy | Notes
What we're reading:
Business Book: The Membership Economy by Robbie Kellman Baxter
Annie: Pete the Cat - Sir Pete the Brave by Kimberly & James Dean
What we're watching:
Ted Talk: The Divided Brain - Iain McGilchrist
Fun: College Football Playoff (Go Irish!) & A Man on the Inside - Streaming on Netflix
Annie: Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood - PBS Kids (she's only 2 years old...)
psst: these are all unpaid plugs.
love, mike
