No Zero Days
Feeling overwhelmed by the constant influx of information in sales and leadership in the real estate industry? You're not alone. Staying ahead of the curve requires consuming a ton of content, but who has the time to read all that?! That's why I'm creating something special: concise, actionable book notes that distill the key insights from the best business, sales, and leadership books, so you can get the knowledge you need without the information overload.
Congratulations, you made it to January 31st, 2025. If you're reading this, you've picked yourself up off the mat for another day in business. Good. Now how do we keep that going? In this market? In this economy?
Adopt a system where there are no "zero days" to your lead generation and prospecting activities. I'm not saying you should do a BOLD 100 everyday, far from it actually. If you find your sales in a slump, this is the time to earn consistency. It's time to adopt a non-zero system. Someone needs your help today, do you know who?
A non-zero system is one where your only job is to start a streak, then keep it alive.
How many working days in a row have you had a conversation about real estate with someone?
Great, each day you do that is at least a one. A non-zero day.
Turning into an elite producing agent, or a black belt level recruiter doesn't magically happen overnight. It's built from a series of consistent activity. A string of non-zero days. You'll see a bunch of people on stage who've done just that.
So many people think confidence has to come before the action takes place. Research shows it's really the opposite. Confidence is the byproduct of past successes. The result of being brave enough to attempt something, seeing your progress, and going for the next step. One fantastic method that has worked for me several times is the 66 Day Challenge from the folks at The ONE Thing.
"Yes, isn't it wonderful? The harder he works, the luckier he gets." - Samuel Lerner (1884 - 1956)
It's the secret behind elite performers no matter the industry. Athletes, Sales Professionals, Actors, Musicians, you name the profession, ask yourself, "I wonder how much effort they put into consistent practice?"
There's something in your life right now, that you have a non-zero day streak alive. Maybe it's saying "I love you" to someone important in your life. Maybe it's brushing your teeth. Or eating something healthy. Or going outside. Or helping someone with a real estate need.
Life shows up, are you able to find a way to keep the streak alive? You do that long enough, luck finds you.
The reality of this edition of the newsletter? I'm barely keeping the streak alive. Admittedly, I just finished editing all the parts and hit send. But, hey, the streak is alive, and on time. And that's what counts.
Finding ways to spark your streak? These might help:
